THE MOON QUEEN
Acrylic paint applied with brush and airbrush on a 48"x24" handmade MDF relief panel, 2024. The panel is made from 3 layers of 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch MDF that were cut using a jig saw and a scroll saw. The layers were then glued, sanded, primed and painted to create this custom sculptural canvas. Hand sculpted mushrooms made of Magic Sculpt epoxy clay and painted with acrylic paint are mounted to the frame. This piece depicts an urban landscape scene observed from a warehouse roof top overlooking the city. It is about, exploration, reflection, human connection and love that can be found in the most unexpected and surreal places.
DERAILMENT

The reference photo for this painting was taken minutes after the train derailed, almost crushing the photographer and figure in the painting. Hidden Oasis

Holding Space

This piece depicts a gathering of friends around a bonfire under Interstate 83 in Baltimore City during the cold winter of the COVID-19 lockdown. It is about companionship, love, and the warmth of human connection even in the most uncertain and darkest times. Railfans
Acrylic paint applied with brush and airbrush on 20"x16" canvas, 2023. Railfans are train enthusiasts, many of whom brave the elements to watch and study the passing of freight trains. They know the models of different train cars and even track the routes of specific engines. This piece depicts a group of friends observing a passing train on the CSX mainline in Baltimore City. It is about friendship and the human ability to find community through shared passions, no matter how eccentric.
