HiGHLANDTOWN

A 50’ x 30’ mural celebrating the diverse community of people from all over the world, who have made the Highlandtown neighborhood of Baltimore their home. The artwork depicts their stories, journeys, places of origin, and dynamic aspects of many cultures coexisting in one place. Right now, more than ever, it is essential to celebrate the immigrants in our neighborhoods, whose hard work and cultural exchange make the community fabric of our city stronger. I partnered with fellow artist, Nether to execute all phases of this project that was made possible by Southeast Community Development Corporation. Content for the mural was determined through an extensive community engagement process in collaboration with the Highlandtown Community Association and the Highlandtown Arts District. We attended community meetings and interviewed residents during the Highlandtown Art Walk to determine content for the design. This mural was painted using a combination of Sherwin Williams acrylic latex applied with a Graco QuickShot paint sprayer and Montana 94 spray paint.
